Anyone currently using the Hightower report or services? MCRI (Moore Research)? Are they worth the price or is their a specific product anyone finds useful
I subscribed to the Hightower report trial and must say there is a great deal of information and resources provided and updated morning and night. Not sure if I have seen anything propritory yet though, seems to be public information compiled with a few obvious opinions, perhaps I am missing something.
Thanks for any input you may have.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I remember seeing that report a few years ago when I had a free subscription. A few thoughts:
A) If you can reverse engineer their analysis (not very complicated), then the report obviously has very little value for you. I think that's what you should strive to be able to do anyways.
B) If you can't reverse engineer it, then it may have some value, but then you risk being 'blinded' by their analysis without fully understanding how they arrived at their analysis and if the conditions for that analysis is still valid.
I think in terms of curated research, if you can't be bothered with reading the underlying data itself, there is some decent value. Just be wary of trade recommendations you aren't yet able to fully analyze yourself.
I have just renewed my subscription to MRCI. It's probably my 6th annual subscription with them and I use it mainly for Spreads although I may start outright futures this year. The information provided is pretty comprehensive.
I subscribe to both, the Hightower Report and MRCI, for many years.
In my opinion, there is a lot of valuable information in them. As I trade a lot of commodities, I do not have the time to read the original data on a regular base for all These commodities. Thus, I take Hightower and MRCI to receive a first idea, and then check myself in detail.
For both publications I do not trade their suggestions without a detailed look at the fundamental data myself. (Most of their suggestions I do not trade.)
In case the full Hightower Report is too expensive: There is also a "Weekly Market Letter".
I work with De Carley and with RJO. Both include the daily Hightower Report for their customers. I also have an account with Interactive Brokers, who do not include this report.
