Yet another slow day today for me.
Only 1 entry on GC for 155$ loss.
To bad the first day didn't went to plan otherwise i still would be positive.
Account balance right now: 49683.75$
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
2 losing trades today, 1 on ZB and 1 on Gold for a total loss of 316.25$.
Looks like i started my evaluation account right on the beginnen of a losing streak.
However no reason to panic yet, 1 good day and i will be back at the initial starting balance.
Still have 1587.25$ draw down left.
1 trade on SI futures, however i set the target in the bracket at 8 ticks.
This should have been 6 ticks to get to 150$ profit. My trade was filled at 17.375, if the target was correct my target would have been filled, now i made an 8 tick loss.
I noticed to mistake to late since i wasn't behind my pc.
2 other trades on gold, 1 winning and 1 losing.
Total loss of 215$.
1366.25$ draw down remaining.
Hopefully the losing streak and the mistakes are almost over now ...
1 on ZB for 156.25$ profit
2 on GC, 1 losing and 1 winning
1 on SI, for -125$.
I had some positive slippage om my stops so the total for the day is 51.25$-20$ commission, so 31.25$ total.
Sad thing is is that this has been my best day since i started.
ZB system is working as normal, only 1 winning trade away from an all time high.
GC system seems to have more losers than expected, however i didn't have that much data/backtests for GC so i will have to wait and see if it turns around or not.
I had some problems with my internet connection over the weekend and it looks like the problem isn't completely fixed yet.
I did 5 trades today.
1 losing on ZB
1 winning on SI
3 GC, 2 winning and 1 losing.
However due to my internet problems i closed the last trade early and i also missed 2 trades, 1 on GC and 1 on SI.
Decided to quit for today and call my internet provider to try to get the issues solved before tomorrows session.
Just to help us understand where you are, which part of your system have you automate so far? It can generates momentum entry signal from Rithmic that happens once or twice a day, and automatically enters with a limit order? After confirmation of entry, can the system issue bracket orders for target and stop loss exit? Upon market close, can your system unwind all positions by itself. You seen to have to intervene quite often especially near market close. If you want to take it to next level, I think you should automated all your trading.
Then there are things I don't understand. If you can automate the entry limit order, then you should be able to program exits without using bracket order. You mentioned that one target price was hit but your limit order was not. Well, why not just issue market order when price hits your target. There maybe 1 tick slippage but that only dents your profit a little. Stop loss order held by the brokerage firm are sometimes unreliable anyway. That's my 2 cents.
As mentioned a few times, i am working on making it fully automated, however i have no coding experience so it might take some time.
For now indeed it does generate entry's from Rithmic that might happen from just once up to 7-8 times a day.
All entry's are placed with bracket stops and targets, so far nothing else is automated.
The only reasons i intervened so far is because something went wrong or i had to leave my desk.
I am currently working on a 4G internet backup in case my internet fails again (normally i have a very stable connection), also i have found a solution so i can remotely access my PC so i can keep trades open and close them right before the close even if am not at home.
The only trade i should not have closed early was the SI trade on friday, however in the end it didn't make a difference.
