Hi F.io community!

The reason for me to write this thread is to ask any experienced all-around traders out there for advice and illumination on trading currency over the internet as a whole and what is the best route to take in this potential career path.

I am 22 years of age. Currently in the process of getting into a computer science associate degree and also thriving for ways to learn a career that would have potential to get me 6 figures. I'm a trades man in construction, I run my own subcontracting business. It gives me a pretty good income and has a pretty good career potential that is already developing due to my networking skills that I have developed through my journey of being self employed.
All in all I'm asking for the best advice in what is the best route of online trading and best software as well.

Thank you everybody

Steve

Hi Steve,

In my opinion Ninja Trader is the best, I am sure a few would agree. Pretty much any platform will work. In terms of trading, to get your feet wet, I would check out this book https://www.amazon.com/Technical-Analysis-Financial-Markets-Comprehensive/dp/0735200661. This will get you up to speed on the basics of technical analysis.

6 figures eh, that's a good goal. I think you can get there quickly with your subcontracting work.

To make a 100k you'll need to make about 500 a day or 8,333.00 a month or so, which is not unreasonable by any means depending on your account size and your risk parameters.

You can open a Forex account with a minimal amount of money, same with futures.

I think the most challenging thing ahead for you is learning to deal with your emotions and finding a valid trading strategy that works in the market and that fits your personality. Before scaring yourself emotionally I would seek help.

Here are a ton of people that offer services for teaching and such. https://conferences.moneyshow.com//tradersexpo-chicago/?scode=035323 The MoneyShow organization is legitimate.

I wish I started when I was 22, your head is in the right place. I am 33. Good luck and take your time.
