Great initiative @TheBenefactor , no offense to you but rather than giving money to individual guy on the internet who pledges to do what he says, we could donate directly to the organization that are involved in the relief efforts.
Given the nature of this business/industry, one has to be wary of true intent. I myself have donated to the Florida Disaster fund directly. I mean you could be the real deal and i bow to the efforts you provide to the community affected but frankly when on a trading community/forum asking for money usually raises my suspiciousness.
But wow if you yourself can donate 25,000 by next month, that's very helpful and props to you.
Do let us know of the progress/efforts you've made by next month, that is if you want to.

NO NO. I am not implying that I AM COLLECTING money to give to people.
It is sort of the opposite. I am giving money DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT.
Everyone please be wary of some "well sounding" individual telling you to "give me money so I can help."
Those are the guys you usually see on American Greed, LOL.
I am simply knowing that 100% of my dollars is going to go into the hand of someone standing by his or her house of rubble picking out pictures of happier days.
Even some organizations are not as efficient. In 1999 I asked the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (of which I had given over $250,000 for help with my wife whose insurance was dropped).
They sent me a half legible fax with the names of a dozen lawyers, half were no longer in business, the others only handled car accidents.
I got very pissed.
When I called they said they were very busy organizing a trip for doctors to go to Kaui.
"I get it," I said, "15 minutes in a breakfast conference eating sticky buns and listening to a salesperson on Beta Seron, then asking where the Don Ho tickets were."
Those poor doctors really needed that Kaui trip. Screw the actual victims.
Hope that clarifies.
Doing well today. Shorted the open on Dow. Covered at 25515. Reversed and now long.
It feels so inadequate since the areas around Mexico Beach look like an atomic bomb hit them.
I have to say I am glad Rick Scott won because at a few encounters with him at the devastation he was not campaigning and helping individuals get the right paperwork done, comforting people, staying for long periods on the ground.
Have not gone out to CA with the fires but it just seems kind of scary.
