Hello Everyone,

I'm actually developing a lot of strategies with Multicharts for Dax and in the future I would like to test them also on Crude oil, ES and NQ.
I have friends that actually trade the DAX following the future quotation but using CFD to enter a position.

For example with ICMarkets they can buy 1 CDF ger30 (dax) and it move 1€ every Dax Point with just 60€ margin.

Plus on every index there are NO COMMISSIONS and very low spread, if for dax is just 1 pip then for ES it is 0,6

( source: https://www.icmarkets.com/en/trading-pricing/spreads/ ).

The BAD thing is that ICMarkets doens't support Multicharts.

The backtesting of a strategy is important as it is the Real time simulation before put it live. But I think that sometimes it would be really interesting to test a strategy in real with a "lighter" instruments than the related future. For example 1 point of Dax is 25€, 1 point of the related CFD is 1€..... testing a strategy with just 1 € at point position could be really interesting as you can better enlarge your stops and let the profit run without a heartbrake.
Plus you can enter 2 or 3 cfd contract and do a scalable exit or run real test on many different instruments...
Anyway I think it would be a good "first Step" to test a strategy before put it alive with futures...

PS: Of course this can be applied on certain type of strategies and not scalping.

Anyway the big QUESTION is: do you know any broker competitor of ICMarkets that is offering such a condition to trade CDF that I can connect with MULTICHART ? Any experience with this?

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards,

David

Hi David,

I could be wrong but I don't believe there's that many people on here that trade CFD to begin with.

Hi and thanks for your answer. Sorry for the delay...

Anyway... I know and maybe I've found why.. it seems to be illegal for US citizens to operate on CFD... really don't know why... anyway It would be amazing in order to try posizion sizing without any worries... 1€ for every point and 1€ spread and zero commissions sounds good for some kind of usage...

Regards

Always bear in mind that nothing is free in life. If those are the conditions then chances are they are going to get commissions in a different way.

There are futures products that move with a tick value of 1.25 dollars. You may want to check those out perhaps.
