The jtEconNews indicator is not being supported by John Thom anymore, as he sold the rights to the code a little while ago. Unfortunately, the last version of the indicator was compiled for NT 7 beta versions prior to 16, which requires a rebuild to work properly. He mentioned that there might be copies of the source code floating around though - does anyone have this, by any chance? I like the indicator and would like to be able to continue using it, but it won't work with any version of NT beyond Beta 15.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Sorry guys, but I just realized that the version of the indicator I was looking for isn't the exact same as the jtEconNews.cs file that was supplied earlier in this thread. Specifically, I am looking for this one:
It is compiled as a .dll and John Thom is not supporting it any more. The problem is that the .dll will not work with beta versions subsequent to 15, because of the way that assembly loading has changed. He did mention that the source code to it had been previously distributed, although I don't think it's publicly available on any forum at the moment. Does anyone either have the source code, or at least a compiled version that can be loaded in B16 or later?
Thanks a lot!
P.S. Here is his good-bye blog posting to the world of indicator programming:
You folks may want to consider using roonius news alert indicator TradingStudies - Economic News. It is the best I have seen and a very nice display of C# coding. I learned a lot from that indicator. I was also able to make some modifications to it to suit my needs.
Thanks roonius.
Now, if I were only able to convince him to rework the "Volume Profile" indicator that comes with NT so that it will expose the SortedDictionary to other indicators and strategies. I have not been able to figure that one out.
You are right, it does work on 19... great! The source code would still be great, if anyone has it... otherwise let's just hope it continues working...
