This is not really a question but just wanted everyone to know that Ninjatrader 7 does not work with the Windows 7 x64 Service Pack 1 Beta so be careful if/when you install the real Service Pack since it likely wont change much from the beta. Maybe ninja will have updated by then....
Seriously though, this is one that you should report to Ninja if you have not done so. This is the kind of item they should be looking at and addressing before coming out of beta.
My guess is that NT dev will say 'it aint released yet so we will tell you when we support it, AFTER it is officially released' or some legalese similar to that. ... anyone talk legalese except some scaredy developers ??
So does this mean 6.5 is EOL and they won't be patching it? Lots of people still on 6.5 and I thought they said they would still support it for a while. If anyone knows the answer from NT, please share, this effects two of my trading buddies that don't want to go to NT7 just yet.
Do you have a link where NT has stated that "officially" ?
LOL, ok support an OS that even Microsoft won't support anymore, but no support the most popular version of Windows ever made and the one that has been out since July 2009? I am trying to be nice, trying to use delicate words, but this goes against what they said earlier about supporting NT 6.5 for a while to come.
I understand the people that won't move off XP, they are scared after the Vista crap. Fine. But I am not scared and run Windows 7 like the majority of other people on futures.io (formerly BMT). And when friends ask for my advice, I've told them Windows 7 and several of them are still on NT 6.5.
"So if I am running NT 7.0.10000.2 and my OS is Windows XP, do I have to upgrade or change anything?"
And this was their response:
"Thank you for your note.
There will still be changes to NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.3 based on the changes made to the indicator protection software NinjaTrader uses for commercially available Add-ons, in addition to the Windows SP1 process if you are using Windows 7. They are separate issues both resolved with NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.3, and so if you do not have Windows 7 then the SP1 issue will not be related, but the issue with Commercial Indicators would still be addressed with an upgrade. More information at: NinjaTrader Critical Announcement
That being said we do recommend that you are always on the most current version, and even if the reasons for upgrading do not apply in this instance we would recommend that you use NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.3 when it is released shortly as that will represent many additional enhancements besides the ones mentioned at the link above."
So can anyone tell me what that exactly means? I do grow weary of having to "upgrade" NT so frequently. Seems like it is always in a Beta version.
Hello, if you are running ninjatrader7 I would definitely make sure I'm running the latest version (or maybe wait a day or 2 before upgrading because you never know what happens with their updates so they could fix very serious stuff before you update) I myself sended several bugs on ninjatrader7r2 that crashed the program and they told me it was fixed and coming up for next release.
