I'm looking for an indicator that allows me to

1. select between 2 moving averages (SMA, EMA, DEMA, etc)
2. allows me to set the period for the 2
3. display a histogram of the relationship between the 2 lines

Anybody know of something like this

Is this a virus?

@Darvish, actually, it's someone trying to help you with what you asked for, by providing an indicator that displays the difference between two selected MA's.

I assume you are simply not familiar with how indicator files can be shared and imported into NinjaTrader.

I'm not using Ninja any more, but as I recall there is a menu selection for "Import NinjaScript" or something similar, after you have downloaded the .zip file to the appropriate folder on your computer. You may need to check the NT Help for details. This particular indicator may or may not meet your needs, but that is what this is. Also, it was posted by a very long-term member, @cory, who has provided custom indicators to others on the forum for many years. I would not hesitate to try it out and see if it does what you are looking for.

I will say that I was taken aback by what seemed at first to be a shocking discourtesy in your post, but have since realized that probably you were just unaware of this procedure, and of the practice of providing custom indicators on request on the forum. It would have been much more appropriate to just ask @cory to clarify what he meant with his reply, rather than assume for some reason that he was aiming a virus at you.

Of course, everyone on the internet should have a reliable anti-virus protection software in place, and it is not a bad idea to be cautious about downloading anything you are not sure of. But now you know.

Since you are an Elite member, you can also ask for help in the following thread, where experienced programmers (including @cory) often respond to requests to have new indicators made, or can refer someone to an indicator that already exists:

By the way, the indicator you requested is simply a variant of the standard MACD indicator, which displays the difference between two MA's. There are variations that let you select different types of MA's, and of course you can display the output as a histogram by just adjusting the display in NT.

I hope you can find one that does what you need. And please remember to default to a courteous rather than a suspicious or hostile response in the future. It makes the forum much more pleasant and is much more productive for everyone.

Thanks.

Bob.

..., I apologized.

no need, ninja zip file is to be imported into your NT folder or you can unzip it yourself and copy .cs file to your NT folder and compile it yourself.
