On TS 10 Update 79 - running a strategy of type:

if sky is blue, then buy next bar at open

setstoploss(xyz)
setprofittarget(xyz)

as you can see there's nothing simpler than the above.

Nonetheless ... a simple setstoploss like this does NOT get sent to the exchange (sometimes happens, especially under volatile days) (see attached pic):

- order shows as "filled" under Strategy Status,
- order is of type Market - but shows as "Unsent" under Order Status ....

All other settings are default for the strategy and the strategy was "in sync" w/ the broker position (= 1 long contract). Many times this happens under volatile days, still a setstoploss generates a sell market order which "should" be filled / hit the bid wherever that bid is ... so the fact it's not filled - can be caused by the dodgy Tradestation order routing functionality ... which doesn't seem to work ... unless anyone has a better explanation.

Bottom line is ... if you cannot rely on a simple setstoploss to be executed in Tradestation ... what else is there in Tradestation you can rely on? Forget all the other fancy TS 10 features, bells & whistles ... if the basics do not work.
