I will reinstall NT7 and try it during the live market tomorrow. I've had problems with NT 6.5 for several days and working with support, but still no solution. They said it was probably my indicators.
If I can get NT up and running without crashing or freezing constantly, I'll try using it with tick replay to see if it still happens.
I will report back here and let everyone know in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue with it.
I have not had an opportunity to switch to NT 7 and try this recent update to the ADX but I wanted to send a note because I appreciate your assistance in converting this for me. Was fighting connection issues and it appears to be a broker data feed issue, not an NT issue.
Anyway, attached is a screenshot of the issue I was experiencing previously with the ADX in NT 7. The "shift" doesn't happen in all places so it was not consistent. I highlighted the spots on the screenshot where this happened.
If all goes well with my connection today (I am now testing a demo with a broker who offers Zen Fire data), I will switch to NT 7 and try this indicator so I can let you know if it is working properly.
I paid a programmer to customize a macD a while ago, colorize the histogram and what not. It's not the usual macD histo, but it's the macD line drawn as a histo, not the norm, but know quite a few guys that use it. Anyways, I found a macD indy on the ninjatrader main forum that I'd like to combine with mine. I'd like not only the the histogram to change colors, but the background as well. I'd use the one I found on the forum, but they have it changing colors as the typical macD histo does, not as the macD line/hiso does. I've attached a photo, mine is the top one, and I want to combine the background color change with it. I've attached both indicators, so I'm guessing it should be pretty easy to open them up and do your magic, I tried messing with it but pretty lost...Thanks!!!
It seems the default DMI in Ninja Trader didn't appear the same as the one I was using with Amibroker so awhile ago, I had someone code the attached ADX DMI for me with the ability to smooth the DMI's with different moving averages. It still isn't quite what I needed, but I do use the histogram and the multi-color ADX.
I found a version of DMI that works really well at fibozachi.com but they could not incorporate the histogram and multi-colored ADX so I have been superimposing the attached on top of it.
The attached indicator is the one where the multi-color ADX shifts in NT 7. Would it be possible to code the attached ADX for NT 7 so it does not shift?
Interesting......It was shifting at first and now it works just fine. Thank you!
Now if I can just get the slingshot indicator to work without shifting. I noticed the slingshot shifting just slightly,
but not often in NT 7. When I hit F5, it works okay, though.
