Just thought you guys would like to know NT has been updated to 6.5.1000.13. My broker (MFGlobal Australia) updated their Pats server software and apparently the latest version isn't backwards compatible. I have been liaising with NT support and they were kind enough to write an update to include the latest API in NT so it now works again.
Certainly a tick in the box for NT support imo. I would have been forced to change to IB as a broker if NT hadn't been so helpful. After reading some comments on IB's data feed and execution time on the SPI, I'm glad I didn't have to make the move.
Release notes suggest an update for those that use Gain connections too.

But except for some specific cases (the CL contract issue for ex.), I think IB is not a bad choice at all.
The only important issues with the couple IB/NT I experience is due to NT, not to IB...
Fair enough Sam. I read in a few spots the lack of tick data was an issue and market fills were slow and unfavourable generally. I opened an IB account but never funded it so I can't comment. My thoughts are only based on my readings. If I have tarred them with the wrong brush, then I apologize.
I also trialled zenfire while I was waiting for the update in case I had to switch and if zen had the SPI I might have switched regardless. Their data did seem pretty good.
Anyway, just wanted to make Pats users of NT aware of the update. My experience with Pats platforms wasn't fun and pats support is terrible. I only connect to a pats trade server as its pretty much my only option using an Australian Broker. If I have any more pats related issues I may still change over to IB so thanks for your IB feedback.
Can't wait for the new features in NT7. NT For The Win imho
