Does somebody know if under Broker Profiles -> Settings -> OCO Group the option "Use Native OCO Group" should be checked or not?
I want my stop orders placed on the exchange and not simulated on IBs server.
My past experience with MultiCharts gives me great confidence in the stability of their platforms. But, this is an alpha so it should be treated as such. When MC is more confident, they will move to beta (I think I heard end of Feb on that), and then ultimately a final release some weeks after.
I did some trades with it, and I found few small problems:
- the displayed unrealized P&L on the chart is not correctly displayed
- sometimes you don't see your entries/exits on the charts
- I haven't found, yet, how to enter with multiple contracts, and use different exit rules (example: enter with 10 contracts, stop loss of 8 ticks for all 10 cars, but 3 targets, 8 ticks for 5 cars, 12 ticks for 3 cars, and a trailing stop for the last 2 cars).
I have a live account with Vision Financial Market and Rithmic data feed. I was able to connect data and but could not see my live account (balance, P&L, etc). In addition, my trade bar was inactive and grayed out.
Last Wednesday spent 40 minutes with Multicharts support and they said everything was fine and it was supposed to be that way. Since it's a live account, they did not want to mess with it. I was too scared to trust it live trading. I'll wait and see.
I've installed the free version of MC DT 7 Beta 3 over a week ago now.
Started to use so far only the DOM for live trading, however I do nothing else yet meaning no OCO no master strategy, no charting yet...
Trades, stops and targets are placed with single click.
In another thread I've mentioned that moving the order might will add to the number of contracts. Multicharts has acknowledged it as a bug... so be careful moving orders around with MC7 Beta 3. Beta 4 shall have the fix.
I like the look and feel. Also like a lot that single left mouse click does what I believe is supposed to do... meaning if I click above the current price on the buy/bid side it knows that I want a buy stop order.
On NT's DOM you have to use the middle button to place a buy or sell stop order and if you forget/mixed up than you'll be filled at market.
On IB's book trader you have to right click to place buy stop.
I've got "weird" results with "Master Strategy" meaning won't behave the same way all the time therefore for now and I am not using it currently.
Again the way I am using MC - DOM seems to work fine with my live IB account.
I did not use MCDT for a while for other reasons however I do not recall any connectivity issues.
Make sure id and port are the same between the IB profile in MCDT and in IB TWS config.
I did have issues in the past with IB TWS traded via IB's BookTrader. As I've figured out the root cause was an older version of TWS. Basically stop orders did not work at all on Paper Money while limit orders and market orders did. So make sure you have the latest version of TWS what is supported by MC.
I do know from experience that Ninja "certified" against a specific version of TWS so newer is not always better however I do not know if the same applies to MCDT. You shall check with MC support what version of TWS is supported.
