Well, this is not an elegant solution, but is one workaround... Here's the note I made after putting the same Q to NT:
"NT answer: The templates that are applied to a chart will not be visible on the chart, nor are there any settings within the template to display that. What you could do is with the template you could modify one of the applied indicators to have a template label since you can give your indicators a unique name and if you did that for an indicator with your template name then your indicator would show the template name. Leaving the field blank will remove the label from being displayed on the chart. Enclosing a label in quotations ("MyEMA" for example) will display what's within the quotations and exclude the system added trailing series information. For example:
Right click in the chart and select Indicators.
In the Indicators menu, select an indicator which is applied to Panel 1 from the list on the lower left side of the menu.
On the right side of the menu, enter different text in the 'label' field. (For example "Casey's Template" )
'Casey's template' will then be shown in the upper left side of the chart, allowing you to more easily identify the template in use. (Note to self: Just used an EMA as the indi and set it to transparent.)

There are several ways but the one I use is to put the indicator below in on your chart.
Then change the name in the LABEL box to the name of the template.
This will put the name in the upper left corner of the chart.
The indicator will show up in the list as "AName"
Every time you change the name of the template, change the name in the Label Box of the indicator <AName>
