Hello,
I'm still new to programming. I'm trying to use the Channel This indicator in a strategy with Ninja 6.5. I'm getting an error that, "'Ninja Trader.Indicator.MAV' is a 'type', which is not valid in the given context". Anyone have a suggestion as how to fix this indicator to make it workable in a 6.5 strategy?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
First of all this a terrible indicator. There are indicators that call indicators, which call indicators that call indicators. Indicators are referencing enums of other indicators crosswise. I would …
Thanks for your suggestions redratsal. I downloaded the Channel This and Double MA, also the MAV compiles, but Channel This will still not work in an indicator. Also the DoubleMA will not work in a strategy. They are both giving the same error I listed above.( "'Ninja Trader.Indicator.MAV' is a 'type', which is not valid in the given context") Both indicators list code lines like this in Variables:
private NinjaTrader.Indicator.MAV.MAType mA1Type = NinjaTrader.Indicator.MAV.MAType.HMA;
Somewhere MAV is not specified as I 'type' correctely I'm guessing, but I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?
Are you directing me to place that in the MAV indicator or the Channel This? I tried it in the MAV and got an error stating that I needed to specify the class variable. In Channel This line 26 didn't match with the suggestion.
Ok, try this one I modified the Mav, as the NT7 version was reporting the same error just import attached mav.zip with NT utilities. This indy was modified several times by other users, check that it plots correctly.
