I'm not very happy anymore with Oanda + MotiveWave. Oanda's API doesn't give MotiveWave the flexibility to display 5 daily bars per week... as absurd as that sounds, I confirmed with MotiveWave support that the API only allows them to use 6 daily bars per week. They also confirmed that IB and FXCM do not have that problem; their API allows them to use 5 daily bars per week. Also, no phone support - only email. I find that a bit worrisome.

I think I will stick with Oanda Fxtrade and TOS for now, and move to IB + Sierra Chart later on.

Oanda does have a 5 candle week server for the MT4 platform, just called them and ask them to change your account from fxtrade to mt4. The server is called OANDA-GMT+2 Live.

I'd suggest at least some research on MetaQuotes' Virtual Dealer Plug-In before using that platform to actually execute off of.

Sure, but MT4 is complete crap. I don't even know how people can use it.

It is indeed, but if you trade using the higher time frames it will do the job, I wouldn't use it for intra-day trading.

Perhaps it's best to stay away from shady brokers, whatever a broker can achieve with VDP is also achievable with special hidden software on their servers if they want to, I seriously doubt that any reputable forex broker would engage in such behavior and putting their great reputation into question but I do agree that MT4 is just not a very good platform.

That's a good / fair point you make.
