Is there a study for chart region 1 that doesn't cover up the candlesticks, or maybe somewhat translucent?

Thanks!

You can just add the regular volume study to region 1. In order to scale it down, add 'Study Subgraph Multiply' also to region 1 and set it to a multiple of the volume study. You can use a multiple of 3 to have the volume study show up in the bottom 1/3 of region 1, for instance. Set the subgraph draw type to hidden.

For the volume study, set it to draw behind the main price candles and you can play with bar widths and colors to get it to look good.

You can save the combination as a study collection to make it easy to add to charts.
