That include platform fees, data, routing etc?

3.50 round trip or per side?

Standard, default if you will, is 3.50 per side, or 7 bucks RT. I have 5 RT... There are no other fees, like for the platform (TOS). You'd be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive, and stable platform out there. They are new to futures, thus this thread, but I see them making some nice strides. Their data is the main culprit, I think most would agree. I was told that would change at some point (tick data)...

Just wanted to point out TDA may be new to futures, but ThinkorSwim TOS before the merger have had futures for a while. But back then the feed and TOS DOM interface peformance was horrible. Only good for trading greater than one hour time frame.

update:

I just saw my recent statement from Mirus (RCG).

It was 2.10 for commissions round trip (per contract)
Then 2.28 for exchange fees
.04 cents for NFA fees
So total was $4.42 round trip.

So pretty close if one could negotiate with TDA for $2.25 side

Hi,

Do they provide the same $500 intraday margin like AMP, Mirus?

The fact that they don't offer that kind of margin is one of the reasons that I like them since I'm more comfortable with their business model when they're not encouraging that kind of risk from my fellow account holders. My thinking on that is that if we have a big fall, I don't want too many accounts wiped out at my brokerage .....

Basically the overnight margin requirement is the same as the RTH requirement.
So ES is at $4,375 per contract right now. I find this to be a good thing.
Trading $500 contracts will blew through you real fast if you are still tweaking your setups
and finding your groove.

I trade 5min setups and don't have an issue with their data feed.
I'm not a scalper though and reference higher time frames (4hr, daily, weekly).
Check out my journal if you're interested.

ThinkOrSwim platform "homepage" today:

"
July Release Notes:

As you know, we here at TD Ameritrade pride ourselves in staying on the cutting edge of trading and financial technology. In recent months we have been releasing new features and content at a furious pace (to the exclusion of such mundane concerns as sleeping, our families, and our personal hygiene)...

This has brought to all of you such enhancements as the Home Screen, Pairs Trader, International CNBC, tastytrade*, the Condition Wizard, Option Statistics, Options Time Sales, Range Bars, Thermo Mode, 30 new chart studies, and much more. To give you all a chance to absorb all of these new features and ensure that thinkorswim remains a cutting-edge platform in the industry (in the esteemed opinion of the author), we have dedicated some development time this summer to overall platform maintenance and optimization. This release is solid; we have spent the past month cleaning up our core systems, making it more streamlined and stable. No new features here, just a better trading system. The Support Team thinkorswim by TD Ameritrade *TD Ameritrade and tastytrade, Inc. are separate, unaffiliated companies that are not responsible for each other's services or policies. TD Ameritrade is not responsible for any third-party content or opinions presented. "

They have 25% intraday margin, so it's around ~ $1,000 for /ES

Have used TOS for many years before the buyout etc.. Recently the trading dom(last 3 days) index futures, has been lagging behind the T&S prints, non issue if longer term trader, but I like to trade. Getting tired of it. This recent optimization seems worse than ever. In process of researching the other platforms listed in this forum to see if they will serve my needs better.

I don't routinely use T&S but I saw your post and am running it on /NQ -- set to TS >=1 -- during the first half hour of this rather wild action and I haven't seen any lag at all on my machine. Have 'refresh' set to 'realtime'.
