... though I then found that you need to be an US Citizen and need to have graduated between 2008 - 2013 from specific regions.

My single-minded thought on this was as follows:

"Now I can choose between TopStepTrader vs. Upstart"

Might sound miles apart, but essentially the same concept in different packaging?

Human Resources and Staffing departments to refer to recruitment for a corporate job as 'buying and selling of people'.

Hence I felt all the talk about slavery etc was rather cliche and more of melodrama than anything else.

The initiative is good, though all the same disclaimers apply - I hope 'blue chip' stocks err people will not get unduly pressurized to inflating themselves beyond capacity etc. and especially be wary of WorldComs and Enrons for example when a person's number becomes parabolic at an unsustainable rate.

I viewed it as similar to things like kiva where you can fund an entrepreneur so they can start a new or expand an existing business.

You are basically investing in an individual.
