Guys very very basic question. Are there any Add-ins or anything which i can use to plot graphs from excel data. My data is huge and everything in excel... from MA's to Breadth data & what not sorted columnwise. I want to be able to select columns & give me quick graphs. I do not want any hassle of VBA's.
Currently even something like plotting a MACD/EMA vs price is something i am having a problem with & results are not pretty & slick. I am not really interested in MACD plot...just an example.
Any suggestions/ examples of what you plotting from excel data will be great.
Many thnx

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
well wondering if any auto charting tool out there where one can point data to X or Y axis's or multiples of Xs & Ys to auto generate charts for any data
advantage...i.e can auto generate charts rather than a static excel chart which is embedded.
if you have used anything similar pls post....if not will update the thread at a later date if i find anything
Hi @Nicolas11...wow is that so !! Can the graphs we across multiple .csv's or needs to be only in 1 single csv.
All data is already in .csv format as currently all data is analyzed & tabled. Only thing is no visual stuff other than heatmaps.
Am just getting started with R so not savyy at all. Do i just need to get it into R. Any particular package. I have downloaded R and RStudio and tinkering.
Is there an R addin in excel which you think will make life easy?...any thought will help
Multiple CSV files, either for rows or columns, can be managed.
No R additional package for basic plotting.
By the way, many things can be done in Excel also. In particular, you can change the format of the plot of a given series, in order, for instance, to have a line drawn above an histogram.
yea thanks. What i was looking for is more like a sharpcharts program available @ stockcharts for the desktop for my own data. Have not been able to find something similar in functionality.
Do you mean that you want to replicate something as the screenshot below?
A way to do it is simply to import the data in a trading platform (NinjaTrader, MultiCharts, SierraChart, etc.), and use the charting capabilities of this platform.
Yes you are spot on...that's what I am looking for. Have data in excel just want to chart. Problem is it is not a scalable solution since data is constantly being written into excel.
