Regarding Charts vs Order Flow..

As speculators we are all at some level concerned with the direction and movement of price. Knowing the mechanics of this is essential for all traders (regardless of their style or strategies), therefore Order Flow is an important aspect of trading to understand.

Whether or not we use it at a execution or strategic level is another matter, as there are many successful traders on both sides of the fence concerning that. However I'm willing to bet that all successful traders understand what Order Flow is and how market liquidity and trade executions move prices.

So to answer your question.. Both.

I just now realized i had all these comments on this thread.

I do agree about all the threads, probably one would have been good enough. I was at a point where i felt like i knew nothing so i thought i could get more opinions by starting threads.

I'm glad i did look up order flow the little that i did, because now i know how the market moves; when there are enough market orders to eat up the limit orders for that level it will move up or down one tick or more depending on how many market orders were executed. Because of this i see how HFT could work for huge players.
