Today's upside breakout ( approx. 11.23 EST) on the ES, TF etc. coincided with the same upward volume movement around 150,000.

Wizard, enjoyed the thread a great deal. Are you at cash stage with this system yet, or still on sim?

Still recovering from surgery & too muddy-headed. Will keep tweaking & playing SIM probably for another week or so until all this "dope" is out of my system, & I'm thinking clearly again.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

Wizard,

Glad to have you back. This forum and thread is a steal at nothing more than the cost of a donation.

Personally, I tried the HG with real money and it worked great when it worked (trending days) and was expensive (during non-trending days).

I don't want to be a negative nancy, but when you look at the chart at the end of the day, it appears that HG "caught" the move, but in reality, it's the same story as always, and that is that indicators LAG and it gives far more failed entries that successful ones. Again, this is due to time of day and of course chop. So a filter for time needs to be put in and maybe the introduction of Tick/Trin? (which would require a feed of course)

Now on the other hand, it will save the untrained eye a lot of strain by "indicating" possible entry points, etc. But let me be clear, this is not a predictive system. I tried it with real money on a few markets and I found that a 5m Dual MA (7/14) performed the same if not better on the trending days. If you back test this, it peforms on par with a standard ma system.

Finally, with the success of the system as it relates to the interest in this forum, how long before it begins to dilute?

I'm finding best results from trading only during periods and also during certain market conditions. Tick/Trin validation before entry has saved a lot of money by not taking moves that didn't follow through.

Also, trading multi-lots is also beneficial because the system tends to give ticks early and fast when it gives them and if you got the trade right, leaving a lot to run really pays well.

Thanks again and I hope you are feeling better.

Well! It's been quite a while since I've been called Nancy! HG, like any system using indicators, is always going to be interpretive. Never predictive. There ARE some folks out there touting predictive systems for THOUSANDS! My take: IF they EVER fail for any reason, WOULD YOU EVER TRUST THEM - EVER AGAIN ? ? But, the upside to the HG is, it's a nice, simple, easy way to make a little $$ without having to study & learn a lot about markets, market makers, bid / ask, win / loss ratios, spreads, depth, breadth, excel spreadsheets for recording & keeping track of every teeny, tiny, little single thing you do throughout the day. Who lives their lives like that? Here's a screenshot from today. Simple. Straightforward. Eliminated the LBR indicator. Somewhat Redundant. Still like the SMI2 (3-some) and the d9ParticleOscillator & PRC. I'm sure it could be simplified even further, but not bad for a couple hours works. (I'm still on 1/2 days, until fully recovered). Not bragging. My approach is different than others. I've spent most of my life in some sort of technical field & all that entails - It just finally gets to you over the years. From here on out it's SIMPLE, SIMPLE, SIMPLE or even SIMPLER, if I can find a way to simplify SIMPLE.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

Hello everyone.... Great site. This is my first post. I didn't want to seem like I'm just free loading so I just made a small donation. Wanna help keep this good forum alive.

BTW, anyone using HG on the YM's. What are the Tick chart settings?

Also have you guys use this with CL? Seems quite promising. I loaded the 233 tick chart and there were ample opportunities the whole day.

I read the whole thread and understand how the system works but I can't seem to trade it live yet. Not sure when to pull the trigger.

Thank you all.

Joel,

Here's (1/2 day) screenshot on the YM set at 7 RangeNoGap bars with the streamlined HG system (Eliminated the LBR indicator, left the SMI2 (3-some) and the d9ParticleOscillator as sub-indicators & the PRC on main panel). You could have made a little $$ today! Enjoy. I've added YM to my data stream, so I'll track it & see how it performs using the same settings I'm using for TF, in case you have any more questions or need more examples. Still recovering / only back to work 1/2 days, so I'll probably only have 1/2 day data samples for the remainder of the week.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

It's available in the ELITE / VIP section (one of the links, near the bottom, of the main page of BigMikesForum) and is available for members who have made a donation (DONATE) link (YELLOW) at the top in the menu bar on the main page. This is a restriction placed on the indicator by Sefstrat - the member who coded the indicator - not my requirement, but I cannot share it directly. Make a donation - even a small one-time donation - to help keep this wonderful site going & Mike will change your status to VIP, thus enabling you to access the ELITE link on the main page. There, you will find a number of indicators that have been posted for ELITE members. Quite frankly, I have yet to find a better indicator!

Wizard are you using anything other than the default setting of (14 period phase 0 close )on the D9, because yours seems a bit smoother than mine? are you using the zen fire feed?

Yes. I changed it from 14 to 12. Seems to give a better signal for my 9 RangeNoGap bar chart with the SMI2 trio I'm also using. Here's the template, attached.
