Could anyone direct me to a forum/place where I could learn about stock trading? Mostly interested in getting a good deal with commissions, knowledge about platforms etc I dont want to be a fish and I have no idea where to start

Well, we trade futures here. I would start on investopedia, they'll have all the basics and more. There are tons of youtube videos and stuff for learning patterns and strategies; as for brokers, ThinkOrSwim by TD Ameritrade is a great platform, E-Trade is good too, and Robinhood has zero commissions but a weaker platform.
