Hey,

Several times I came across those Net Positions charts like here and here.

They represent "Net Positions (buy+sell) Market maker Order Book (Open orders, Open positions)"

Only market makers have access to this data about stop-losses, take profits, open positions...
I am struggling to understand them EXACTLY.

Does anybody who understand those graphs can provide a clear and detailed explanation of what is represented here?

Thanks !

Hi @VideoPac

I'm not familiar with those charts. Are they for ForEx?

Hey,
Not particularly, they are for every future market where a market maker participate.
These informations are provided to market makers by the exchange.
I am currently reading a very interesting book about the market makers behavior on future markets and how to profit from it. The graphs I am talking about are shown in the book (page 11).
The eBook is free to download on the author website. I highly recommend to have a look, i'd love to talk about it.

Hey,
This date is supposed to represent the locations of the stops and take profits sent to the exchange, so yes I guess you can know how many stops and take profits are resting at each levels if you know how to read it.

these're from "Oanda", looked them up, it's a FX bucketshop. These charts are probably part of their marketing tool to lure guys into thinking they'll have an edge.

Originally I didn't came across these charts on Oanda, as I said I saw them in a book. I just googled the name of the chart and found a copy on Oanda.
It's not a chart that is supposed to help you earn money. Just a representation of the market makers order book.
