I've been thinking about this for a while...
Why don't stock traders use footprint charts? It looks like it's only used on futures, is there any reason for this?
If it's possible will you be able to see all the necessary volumes to have an edge?
Would it make sense to use a Footprint on a stock short squeeze etc.. where you will be able to see many trapped buyers at the peak of the footprint, then you might get a sell imbalance and that's a good confirmation to go short, just a thought.
