This is my gaming mouse that I bought to scalp on jigsaw daytradr. I love it. Makes everything so much easier. On jigsaw i set up the hotkeys and then with my mouse software programmed the 10 buttons to the hotkeys.
I programmed it as follows:
Fire button (button next to left click button): when i hit it all my contracts go FLAT
Middle button (the scroll button): when i hit it down (not scroll up or down), it CANCELS all pending orders while keeping my position open
Forward button (normally page forward button located on right of mouse by thumb): when i hit it, I buy contract(s) at market.
Back button (normally page backward button located on right of mouse by thumb): when i hit it, I buy contract(s) at market.
DPI button 1 (first button below scroll): when i hit it, it sets my contract buys or sell quantity to 1 contract.
DPI button 2 (second button below scroll): when i hit it, it sets my contract buys or sell quantity to 2 contracts.
DPI button 3 (third button below scroll): when i hit it, it sets my contract buys or sell quantity to 3 contracts.
Side button (located below my fire button and in front of forward button on right side of mouse): Its a bit hard for me to easily reach this button (short thumb), when I hit it , it sets my contract buys or sell quantity to 4 contracts.
Left click button: didn't change, it operates the same as in a normal mouse.
Right click button: didn't change, it operates the same as in a normal mouse.
Then when I'm done daytrading, I hit a mode button on the bottom of the mouse and then the mouse becomes a normal mouse with all the buttons acting normally. So fore example when I change the mode, the forward button doesn't buy a market anymore but instead forwards a page if surfing the internet. Also, I changed the light settings differently for each mode. Therefore, just by looking at the mouse, I could tell which of the two modes it is in just by how the LED lights are operating.
Anyone else using any gaming gear to trade, I would love to see it!!!
I needed a new mouse to replace my old heavy one that occasionally misclicked, and looking around a gaming mouse seemed to be the best option as I wanted it to be lightweight, have a few programmable buttons, and have optical switches.
Like you I have a "standard" mouse profile and a "trading" profile. I only use a couple of programmable buttons, a side one to cancel all orders, and the Hypershift button pressed at the same time as a right-click to act like a normal right-click for cancelling individual orders.
I found on my previous mouse too that as the Jigsaw DOM allows order entry with both left and right buttons I would sometimes press both at the same time when I placed an order and put on a double order. This way the standard right-click is disabled unless I also press the Hypershift.
You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden
