Hello. When it comes to retail traders like us, is it most wise to pick a market that is smaller in volume? It seems from the Chat with Traders podcasts, a lot of guys who are solo seem to be most successful by trading niche markets like US small-cap stocks for example.
Do you think it is inherently more difficult to find an edge with the ES, than say, a nano-cap sector? Simply because the big boys cannot clip as much as they could in ES? I understand that they probably are also running algos on small equities, but they can't come in with massive size.
From my experience trading, it seems like I do better in areas where there are more retail guys around, and do worse when I try my hand at the ES/CL/etc.
I have honestly made more money trading options on equities than I have trading futures, and I would say I spend 90% of my time looking at futures... 10% with options.
