Canadian Traders: Are you able to use machines to enter trades? We know that since IIROC stopped algo trading, certain platforms like Multicharts and whatnot have become unusable. Just making sure that this is the case across the board.

I was speaking to someone from NT8 and they said that with your IKBR integrated, people ARE using the platform NT8 to trade off their chart through IKBR.

Multicharts lets you place orders super fast being able to add shares with a simple click of the button. I'm wondering if there is another platform similar to this or if anyone is using NT8 in Canada with IKBR and trading directly off of their chart!

ANY input at all would be great.

I tried tradingview but it's difficult to trade fast; you need to type the shares each time and the screens just feel a bit clunky. Should I practise? What are you guys using? THANKS!

If TWS from Interactive Brokers is too slow for you, I would look into using BookMap, Jigsaw, or Sierrachart via Ironbeam. If those are still too slow go talk to Advantage Futures and get yourself on TT, CQG or CTS T4.

Been using TWS for the last year and it's fine for me but I have more of a swing timeframe.

Many years ago, I used to be able to trade right off a platform. Fast forward a few years, I tried to make a trade with my Interactive Brokers through Multicharts and it wouldn't accept the trade. I believe IIROC removed that ability for people to be able to use "machines" to trade, whatever that means.

The IKBR interface is .... not nice. Takes a lot of RAM (I'm sure I cam probably whittle it down from removing certain displays) but really, I just want something where I can trade right off of the chart, quickly.

Any other ideas? Specifically, Canadian equities. I can use IKBR in Multicharts or Tradingview even to trade US equities.

I'm guessing I may be limited to ThinkOrSwim? But then again, just realizing ToS is only for US equities as well. What the hell are Canadian traders doing?
