Hi all,

How do you calculate the right number of additional bars to load when working with an accumulative calculation?

I'm trying to make sure the indicator's value is consistent between RadarScreen and Chart Analysis.

Here's an example with CAT. The first indicator, Sentiment, is the same on radar and the chart but the second one, WillVal, doesn't match.

I've been playing around with all kinds of additional bars. Anyone know the right way to do it?

jb2080,

you would need to know the exact calculations to be able to tell how much additional bars are at least required.
If you do not have access to the source code, I would suggest contacting the developer of the code as he/she should be able to guide you through it.
Alternatively you can try raising the number of additional bars step by step and see if the values align better (or starting with a very high number
and going down until the values do not align anymore).

The following link provides more information and you can see how different studies have a different impact. In general you will be able to observe that
calculations having a start point dependency (like EMAs for example) will require more bars compared to studies that use a fixed bar interval.
