I've got to leave soon so today's journal will be short.
Here is a screenshot of my 6e chart along with my list of indicators...
All of these indicators are available on this website except for EOTPro's Alla's Average which is an average of the past swing high/swing low points.
I don't trade 6e yet but I've been watching it. I think if you go long with the "ADXVMA for Sharky" goes from neutral to long and go short when the ADXVMA for Sharky goes from neutral to short, I think you should win over 80% of the time. Maybe close the trade when you get the next neutral "ADXVMA for Sharky"
However, I haven't been able to backtest this, yet. I don't have the programming skill. If anyone wants to backtest this and post the results, that would be great.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Todd, thanks for sharing. Took a look at it and looks real promising. Will be interesting to see if executed in real time if it proves profitable and what the most appropriate strategies for profit target/stop loss will be. Will also be be interesting to see if trading with the trend within a larger time frame can enhance the returns.
I do use an 8 range chart (same indicator set) to get a longer timeframe picture.
When I get back from vacation, I want to start backtesting and optimizing this strategy... if you or someone you know is good at that and would help me get that started, I would appreciate it.
I don't have the programming skill to write my trading plan into a strategy that can be backtested.
I could pay roonius or someone else several $100 to do it but I'm hoping that we can collaborate on this forum to do that. I can do the grunt work of backtesting and optimizing but I just can't get it started.
I trade euro (6E) on 5R and 11R charts, I followed trend on 11 R and take entries on 5R towards 11R trend, I am concentrating on 5 Pip PT and 7 pip SL
I am trying from the last one one month when I joined Mike's blog with Sharkey's format iam very close to 5pip target but i am still testing with other indicators.
I'm using EOTPro's allas average as the step indicator... it's a moving average of the last # of swing high / swing lows depending on what input you set for that.
Hi, Todd… thanks for sharing your chart… I notice that you have a tick delta on the swings. Is that from the alla average? I’d like to implement that, but wouldn’t be worth paying to just get that. What are your stochastic settings and how are you getting the color changes?
I wish I could help you on your backtesting… I did that a lot in ensign, but my learning curve isn’t up to that level yet on NT.
