I'm writing this journal here as a place to keep my thoughts about the day.
So, I started the TST Combine yesterday. 50K 1K drawdown etc. I was in good shape yesterday, up a couple hundred bucks. I decided to trade the European market this morning. Bad Idea. To little sleep, I made every wrong move you can make as trader. I had a technical glitch as well that cost me, but I should have been able to recover. I finally caught myself and just stopped trading. The only thing I could thing I can really think to say is don't try a new routine. I sit here right now exhausted having been awake 12hours now, with only a couple of hours of sleep before that. It was a rookie mistake that cost me a lot of emotional capital today. I felt like I was playing poker on tilt. It actually was kind of like that.
Tonight I'm going to get sleep, and make sure I'm up early to get my homework finished on time to have a good day in the markets...
Take two days OFF. Completely. Go for a walk in the woods, rejuvenate.
Ponder over the meaning of things in life. Look at the stars so far away and realize how puny our pursuits are on this minuscule planet.
Gets your perspective back.
Gets you fighting ready again.
If EVER you face this situation again, rinse and repeat.
No shortcuts.
Here is the best bit for last: Do not attempt to wage a war immediately on waking up. I had ended my first combine that way 'revenge trading' and 'trying to become whole again'. All I did was dig a bigger hole.
