There is another choice, which I use, it's called ScarrCharts Statistical Trading Software.

While it doesn't offer some of the features of SeasonAlgo(which I use also) that many have listed above, In my opinion it's an invaluable research tool that uses statistical analysis of seasonality amongst all different kinds of spreads.

Just one wonderful tool ScarrCharts has, is the trade map feature(see attachment). It really breaks down a prospective spread into a very defined timeline for entering and exiting and best possible outcome.

Well worth the annual subscription.

Disclaimer: I'm not being paid by ScarrCharts, I just freakin love it!

Just tried to check this one out. Apparently the sites under maintenance at the moment

I have been using Seasonalgo for some time, and love it.

I just saw that myself after reading your reply. Since I have an annual subscription I use a different link to log into the program.

This was his original website. scarrtrading.com. It's still in use.

The program creator's name is Dan. He is responsive and will answer any questions you might have. I know that the program itself is going to have an upgrade, soon, to include analysis of intermarket spreads. Maybe that's the reason for the maintenance.

Well wishes!

Does it have anything like Season Algo where they bring forward spreads that have worked in advance? Or is the application strictly manual in searching for seasonals?

That's exactly what the program does, based on mathematical computations in addition to seasonal tendencies.

Imo, where it goes more in depth than Season Algo is the spread map feature(see attached pic in my first post to this thread). It's like a heat map diagram. when you put the pointer on specific dates it will show odds of success based on mathematical backtesting.

Season Algo has this under the optimize tab. Is this the same thing?

Yes and no. In Scarr you can pinpoint exactly with the cursor accompanied with corresponding statistics. In season algo, the cursor doesn't pinpoint exactly but you do get the horizontal and vertical axis info. It's just more defined in Scarr, but yes basically the same concept. I personally am a visual learner, so for me, Scarr really helps with the decision making process.

Well wishes!

Just a few examples of the differences using your Feeder Cattle spread.

1. The first pic Season Algo has very limited criteria for picking said spread.

2. Second pic Scarr has a number of different criteria to look at.

3. Third pic shows cursor picking procedure.
Notice the little box on the map itself Open = Dec 12023 Close = April 24,2024 Best MPE = 2800

Are you able to check if VX spreads are available at Scarr Charts. I happen to trade allot of these.

EDIT: Never mind I see them. Went to the search feature and clicked indices.
