Bid is the price at which a trader is willing to buy security. It is also called demand price and usually reports also the amount of the security the trader is willing to buy.
Ask is the price at which a trader is willing to sell a security. It is also called offer price and usually reports also the amount of the security the trader is willing to sell.

Some charting applications, such as
NinjaTrader, do not store
Bid/Ask data in their database. This means historical bid/ask data is not available for studies/indicators/strategies. Other applications, such as
MultiCharts, do store the data.
Gomi has created a set of tools called
GOMRecorder which allows NinjaTrader indicators to persistently store bid/ask data.
