Currently looking for another platform offering a terminal that only connects to the internet when you want it to, like what NinjaTrader offered until today
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Looking for a relationship between the title of the thread (Ninjatrader Forced Upgrade) and the screenshot you posted.
I did receive a "forced upgrade" warning, and that I must upgrade my NT version to one of those recommended by June 23rd - is that what you're referring to?
Unless NinjaTrader has decided to get into the business of selling user data to 3rd parties (I haven't checked their privacy policy), I wouldn't go as far as calling it 'surveillance'.
I am sure there are technical reasons why they implemented this switch and, if you want to ask the question in the NT AMA thread I am sure it will get addressed.
The following 2 users say Thank You to xplorer for this post:
If you are using a 'licensed' copy of Ninjatrader each time you open the software NT7 or NT8 it connects to the "License Server".
(I doubt they monitor when you connect because it is like watching grass grow.)
"Nothing to see here and what you see is so boring and slow no one cares"
This is the way it has been for as long as I have used NT (since 6.5).
If you doubt what I say, before you upgrade, do this:
Disconnect your internet connection and start your copy of NT.
NT will start but will complain that it can not connect to the license server to VERIFY you are using a licensed copy.
When NT finishes loading you will not be able to connect to your account because you are not using the LIVE version.
