Gracepips,

You can setup a free NinjaTrader/Zenfire demo account through Mirus and do most functions except actually send live orders. The datafeed will be the same as what you would see with an active account. That might give you a better idea of what you would be getting before making a commitment.

Regards,
TMFT

I agree. Mirus (who I don't use) and NT are the best to get started. Otherwise you are just throwing additional $'s away.

Tradestation, MultiCharts etc. are all too expensive for me. I guess because I am not live yet again, but for a new person I shouldn't have been pissing all my $'s into their bank accounts anyways. I will stay loyal to Ninja for at least a while!

I believe you can do orders with AMP futures without paying for Ninja, but no ATM's etc... Anyways, good move. Futures are more fun.

There's only 1 with head and shoulders above the others considering price AND service : DeepDiscountTrading.com - .50 Cents Per Side + Fees

OK, it's a funky website but he's great, contact Howard.

He's the best .

Thanks for the link, yes it is a bit of a cheap looking website but if the product is right that's much more important. I haven't heard of them before though that probably tells you more about my lack of Futures/brokers experience than them. I need to do some due diligence and find out about the data feeds they use, margins etc.

Hi all,

Just a short note to say how my hunt for a Broker has went. I've been reading tons of posts on the forum and other forums about the best Broker for me. But first, I'd like to thank Big Mike for providing such a wonderful place to get help without the flame throws some other forums have. And a big thank you to all who have answered my questions and took patience with me...!!!

It was a choice in the end between Optimus Futures, Interactive Brokers and Deep Discount Trading.

They all have things going for them and I'm not going to bash any of them that's not the way I work. But after speaking to Matt from Optimus it was an easy choice. Matt gave me a good deal and a few free extras but most of all I feel very comfortable and safe with his customer service. I'm experienced in Spot Forex but not the Futures market so I needed someone who I could trust and maybe do some hand holding for me as I get used to the differences between Spot/Futures.

I contacted DDT as well and Howard was as friendly as others have said but for me Matt ticked the boxes and especially since I'm beginning to use NT and I wanted the Rithmic data feed and not TT. I know there is much debate on data feeds but the more I read the more convinced that Rithmic was the way I'd like to go. So again Optimus suited me.

Thanks again for all the help and if anyone out there needs a broker Matt and Optimus Futures are worthy of at least a call. Give them a try I know you will be treated fairly and with integrity.
