I'd like to add that algos are written with those specific conditions in mind and use the same principles of technical analysis and strategies... to get in the market prior to bots or understand the why, you would have to learn more about the top strategies algos are written for like mean reversion, momentum, trend or reversal, etc... as far as spotting them in action I agree with zzzz2021 and observing price action and I would add ranges in those conditions. This should work in both futures and stocks. …

HealthWealthTrade San Diego Elite Member Experience: Advanced Platform: NinjaTrader, ThinkorSwim Trading: ES S&P 500 Posts: 35 since Jan 2015 Thanks Given: 10 Thanks Received: 22	In my opinion, the algos come in against my position immediately. so the only way is to be more careful on entry and wait for the algo to hit first then enter. its a lot trickier than it sounds because you'll be trading and you'll put an order in and then immediately it gets taken out and the price action moves heavily against you. you get filled exiting the trade and think to yourself ahhh i'll just go for the reverse trade now....WRONG....most times it goes against you too. When this happens i think you call it a range day and fade your entries.
