What would be the best way to take multiple underlying securities, and plot them into panel 1 (price) by themselves as price bars that could match the chart type format (range, volume, renko, time, etc)?

Example: ES + DX + 2*("leading instrument")

So we could get a weighted factor result.

for NT7 i have this realized with a tick based syncronization of a custom painted expression chart with the normal base chart useabe with any barytpes. MC can also realize user painted candles as panel chart. I think its can gi the same way...

This would interest me too. If indeed it's doable, I'd like to know... Thanks much for checking with your colleague.

Hi Mike,

I don't fully understand what you want to do here but it does sound like a similar problem to my thread
here.

The only solution I found was to create an indicator based on price and only plot that - I couldn't see how to work with price itself to create a new data source.

Of course you could do this retrospectively by creating your own symbol data say in csv format and importing through quote manager, but I am sure you would prefer something that updates automatically

This would be a good question for Multicharts as there are a lot of reasons why you would want to transform some data source live, e.g. invert it or combine with another as you are doing.

cheers,

Hopefully, I can revive this topic and get some help. I have a price overlay of four indices in Sierra Charts that I would like to replicate in Multicharts. I managed to overlay NQ over ES, but when I tried to add in RT & YM, that was a bridge too far.

Any help would be appreciated.

redneck4Christ,

your last screenshot appears to have data missing, but it's hard to tell just from the screenshot what might cause this. Can you create a standalone chart of YMU9?

In general the problem you will face could be the different prices of the symbols, which could create scaling problems.

Regards,

ABCTG

Good catch ABCTG! I did not have CBOT on my Rithmic feed until this morning, so I did not have YMU9 on the screen shots I loaded in my previous post.

I am watching NQ at 7566.50 scaled in with ES at 2898.00. I'm not sure exactly how I managed that. I just kept loading and unloading NQ on ES until it worked. Hopefully, I can be more intentional and precise in adding RTY & YM.

Thanks for your response!

Jeff

Finally, I think I found the key. See the embedded screen shot. Note that in the "Scaling" tab, around the middle, "General" section, the "Overlay Data Series" box is checked. That did the trick!
