Could some kind soul provide some hand-holding and help me get started with MultiCharts? I just downloaded MultiCharts Discretionary Trader. I'm coming from a NinjaTrader background. I have an account with zen-fire and would like to open a chart using zen-fire for BRN (Brent ICE) and CL (West Texas from Nymex/CME). How do I go about doing this? Do I have to first set up these symbols in the QuoteManage? If so any help would be appreciated.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks Mike. When I asked this I had just downloaded MCDT 7.0 Beta 1. Since then they have released Beta 2 which thankfully added the Zen-Fire Data Source. I'd like to ask another question on this thread if you don't mind. Or I'll start another thread if that is appropriate. But based upon the responses from this thread there doesn't seem to much interest in MCDT. I would like to compare the chart trading in MCDT with the chart trading in NT. In NT, I can do a tick-by-tick play back and execute trades during the playback with the chart trader. Is it possible to do this in MCDT? The first response I got back from MC support wasn't too helpful. A side note: How do we start a new paragraph in this forum message?
In case anyone cares, there is a bug in MCDT version 7 beta build 43 in the predefined BRN symbol for the zen-fire data feed:
It should be:
BRN FMM0011!
note there should only be one space between the N and the F, they used two spaces.
A side note on new lines and new paragraphs in these forum messages. In my previous message, I couldn't force a new line or new paragraph. I found the problem. An add-on I'm running in FireFox 4 called NoScript was apparently conflicting with the new line tag.
