Hello, I have pulled several years of ES Tick data from Sierra Chart and would like to import it to NT7. Unfortunately, the .txt file created by Sierra is not read by NT7, as the format needs to be changed slightly. I tried importing to Excel, which would make the adjustment easy. However, Excel does not support enough columns to allow for tick data from one contract of ES.
Does anyone know how I can change the format of the .txt tick data files from Sierra so that they are compatible with NT7? NT7 allows me to download tick data until 6/4/2010. However, I need tick data further back than that. My goal is to import tick data from the necessary contracts from about 2008 to 6/4/2010.

Once I have made the conversion, I am happy to share the files with the forum. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it seems NinjaTrader is very limited in this regard. It has come up a few times in the Elite threads where a lot of historical data is shared. If memory serves, someone wrote a Windows app to let you move columns around for a MultiCharts -> NinjaTrader conversion, not sure if it would work or not for Sierra. However, it is Elite only.

You might want to check this section. I think there is something or an author there that could help you, namely bukkan:

I have exactly the same problem but vice versa. I am currently switching from NT to SierraChart and would like to import my historical tick data to Sierra. I understood that Sierra can read more txt data formats but when I tried to import original NT txt file the chart was wierd.

Can anybody help? If not, is there a section here where you guys share also Sierra historical tick data? I was able to find only NT data so far. Thanx

EDIT: It has to be tick data because I am using it to build composite profile (for several markets - NQ, YM, ES, TF, FDAX, FESX)

@Pepe2000 ,

Have you carefully followed the process proposed by SC: Exporting and Importing Intraday Data Files - Sierra Chart ?

Was do you mean exactly by "weird"? Was there an error message? Could you show a screenshot?

Nicolas

I solved it other way and sorry canīt remember exactly now. The problem was that the data from NT are not separated by comma which lead to funny graphs.
