I agree with you, as an ex programmer i can tell you they implemented a very basic algo to draw a trendline. I'd have gone a step further so that when you draw a trendline on a 60 minutes chart and you switch to a high resolution chart as would say Fat Tails then the line should update itself automatically. Programtically speaking, this is very easy to do. For the user these little details count.

Thanks. What trendline indi's would you recommend? I have played with a few, but I would have to put quite a few on my charts which is fine with different lookback periods. I don't mind doing this, but so goes trading.

Thanks for all your inputs. I have to figure out how to be lazy at something else soon or I must give up. hahah..

Thanks for the education all!

Ray / TL data not persistent.

If you give one of your trend lines a name, like "session open" or "pivot", dont be so silly to expect the names to be there tomorrow.

double click on your trend line -> Properties -> Data tap -> Tag -> name it -> gone on next reload of workspace

Why is this form "Tag" there ?
Bug ?
Feature ?
only in my language version ?

TAGS are used so that a manual drawn object can be referenced via NinjaScript. Non global draw objects TAG's will not change on workspace reload. Global draw objects do, I will check with development what the purpose of this behaviour is.

TY "NinjaTrader" for your reply.

You even provide support on a "foreign" board.
As I said, great support is not one of Ninja's problems .

Thinking things trough is.
Yes, please ask development, what the reasoning is behind:
give the user the ability to name rays, but dont store that name in anywhere.

I think i came up with a good solution for you. If you use a point and figure chart using the bar type attached to this post then selecting the anchors points without thinking about the time dimension becomes much easier. The benefit of using a PnF chart also will reveal where rotational price action took place (areas of balance). Since i began to use this chart type i have realised i do not need to use market profile as much since you can easily deduct the position of the POC by a simple glance at these areas where balance took place.

Again test it using the bar type provided and let me know what you think.

How come the trendline from a 4181 tick chart when put to 'global' on all charts ends up being very different then if I put it directly on say a 144 chart?

I will line up my trendline precisely on the same points and on the 4181 the trendlines look beautiful, but on the 144 it will be off and vice-versa?

Why are there inconsistancies between timeframes etc..?

I can snap a picture if nobody knows, but strange to me as I would think they would line up precisely.

Do you currently have "Snap Mode" enabled for your drawing object? If so please delete your line-->Disable Snap Mode and apply your trend line once again.
