Every time i load ninja trader my CPU load hits 90%. I have about 55 chart windows open and my temperatures stay below 50 deg C. Is this action normal or do i need to buy a discreet video card? I start up ninjatrader about 2-3 times per day and only those times my cpu load hits 90%+. Any advice or help is appreciated
And you're worried about it being busy loading data?
It's an OO application, plus you didn't say what sort of data (e.g. Ticks/Minutes), or how much data e.g. N days/bars, or what indicators (especially third party ones) you have loaded, so the situation sounds normal to me.
Strip any poorly coded indicators from the charts, cut down the data you need and/or select more appropriate types if you want to reduce load times.
I rarely see my cpu cores above 20%
even during startup...
what kind of Hard Disk are you using ?
I have a Samsung SSD 840 Pro Series, that has proven to be fast and reliable
During start-up NT is doing 2 things :
- loading the data
- calculating the indicators
I don't think the CPU load comes from the graphics
55 charts of minutes data of NQ and ES. Loading time for all charts is less than 1 minute. The temperatures run between 40-50 deg C and i do experience a short lag or hang of a few seconds when i mouse click a few times
