I am trading stocks using end-of-day data in NinjaTrader and @Fat Tails anaSuperTrend indicator for entry signals, and would like to know if there is an easy way to find the stocks with a new signal without having to look through 500 individual charts each day. I tried adding a column for SuperTrend in Market Analyzer, but that only gives the value of the indicator for the last signal.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
It would be possible to modify the SuperTrend indicator and then use the modified indicators with the market analyzer. Below is show a sample for a similar indicator.
(1) Measure trend stregth
Code an offshoot of the SuperTrend indicator that displays the trend strength based on the distance of price from the stop line. The market analyzer below shows the current trend for a 60 min and a daily chart.
(2) Count the number of bars after a trend change
Code an offshoot of the SuperTrend indicator that counts the number of bars since the last trend change. You could highlight the first bar to alert you to a trend change. The market analyzer below show the trend count for a 60 min and a daily chart.
Thank you for the reply. I do not know anything about coding, is this something I should post on the "Have your indicator created for free?" forum? Or can the code for this be found in something you have already posted on BigMike?
@gringa: I do not see an elegant way to access the SuperTrend directly. It is best to modify the indicator in such a way that it can be best used with the market analyer.
Hey Fat Tails, I clicked together a strategy with Ts supertrend Indicator, which also works well in backtest, unfortunately I don't get the analyzer.
could you kindly help me there, since you already have good experience. Would it be possible to use yours analyzer, thanks in advance
