I too have an i7 920 2.67 Ghz. I got it around when it first came out a year ago, and it is pretty awesome. Ninja Trader is the first thing that has ever really tested it. I'm thinking about learning how to overclock it and do that extreme gamer tweaking stuff as it appears you have done a bit of. Did you have any disasters when you were learning how to overclock? I don't know that much about computers so I'm really cautious with making changes in the bios, if that's where it is done...
Just read a bunch, there are a lot of step-by-step guides out there. Also, it will greatly depend on your mainboard, memory, and CPU HSF (heatsink/fan) on how much you can overclock it. I've been building my machines for 20 years now myself and I always use the best components for each build, which is why I could overclock from 2.6 to 4ghz. If you have an off-the-shelf system you will likely not be able to get very far, so the best thing to do is simply research online. Google is your friend.
I love building PCs. I shopped the components individually. 12 Gigs of OCZ 1333mhz ram, though I don't think I've ever used more than 3 Gigs of it. I've got a big old Antec Box, multiple fans, it's a tank, weighs a ton, and an Asus p6 Deluxe motherboard, and a western digital black caviar, the fastest one. I'm pretty sure it can handle an overclock, it really is one tough pc. I do worry about crashing it though, always worried about that. I was just looking at the latest stuff and have real envy for that new i7 extreme chip and the solid state drives, I wish....
