On a 233 or 144 volume 3LBW looking for a good indicator that gets one in on the first bar of the new swing but effectively filters out at least some of the "bad" signals. The current indicators I am using confirm the swing very late in the swing (3rd - 5th bar) when the scalp move is usually over. Any suggestions?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
No offense taken. It's an honest question and I'm not a new trader. Just looking for some suggestions to test and play with on my own and find out what others have tried that have not worked.
I'm creating this thread with the purpose of a 'catch all' for any trading related question that futures.io (formerly BMT) members want to ask, but don't want to create a new thread for -- or find an existing thread to reply to.
I've …
You'll at least know where I stand after reading that thread.
I'm sure someone else can give you recommendations on the indicator you are after.
TrendTraderBH. Have you seen Perry's Continuation Method and thread? the MAmulti and MTF indicators may be somewhat along what you're looking for. You can adjust it so it "fades" out bars that are in a flat trend (based on settings like divergence or congruence of different time frame slopes of ma's) vs. solid bars which are more in a trend.
I get great scalping trade results with the indicators that I got from navitrader. You might want to take a look at them, too. The volume charts on ninjatrader work great with them and you can get in right after a pivot break. I think they now give a free trial, so you can try them out for yourself.
Well, I've been doing some research on MACDBB's with different time frames, I've seen many post on that, and even a guy posting his journal in futures.io (formerly BMT)! using it and showing consistent profit using 'em! I sure doubt that it's live trading his doing! but atleast I got to know about the indicator and now trying play with it myself!
