My favorite eco calendar

Markets Data Center Table - Barrons.com

Site below great for watching volume on different contracts. I use it to roll to next contract.

Futures - Most Active Futures

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

for windows users

displayFusion Pro - for multi monitor users - this is a must - basically you can set up a bunch of custom sized windows that span across any portion of total screen real estate and then have those settings sit next to the max/min sizing options of your windows.
My chart images from my journal show all of the title buttons that I've setup

free apps...

DeskPins - make any application remain at the front. Great when you want your DOM, a webpage or online video etc to remain at the forefront regardless of zooming in out of a chart etc that is set to use much more real estate

DeskPins 1.3 Download (Free) - DeskPins.exe

Dimension 4 - sync the Windows clock correctly. I was finding Windows, pdesite the auto synch feature kept lagging the time on TWS - now its always exact

Thinking Man Software - Dimension 4 v5.3

Pangolin Screen Dimming Utility - adjust brightness for all/some of your monitors easily from task window

PangoBright screen dimming utility, from Pangolin Laser Systems

I use econoday ( Econoday) for my event calendar. I use their iCal feed to throw it onto my Google Calendar and then review my calendar daily to look for major events.

Nice. Never heard of Pangolin, definitely going to use that.

An alternative to Dimension4 that I prefer is simply using a GPO/Task to sync the clock. I try to cut down on as many third parties as I can.

Here is a tutorial for those who don't know how to do it.

Force Windows time synchronization more often

Thanks for this, I'm in a agreement on cutting down running of third parties - while Windows and IB TWS are in sync (2 second variable), I was unsure if I had completed the action successfully as the process seemed slightly different to the instructions as per the link.

https://www.netuptimemonitor.com/ Continuously Monitor Your Internet Connection and Log All Failures

You can set custom sounds for when you lose your connection/when the connection is re-established as well.

For something that does the same thing, but free, take a look at this project:

liteCam HD | Recording on screen with video, audio - liteCam This screem recorder has the option to record your webcam in a pip style, so you can see your facial expression throughout your trading session. The pip screen can be re-positioned where ever you like and also resized. It also has a timer recording, so you can set it to automatically start/end the recording at set times.

I've tried many screen recording tools, and I like this one best. The compression/file output size is also the best I've tested.

I use it to record the DOM and charts mainly to see when liquidity goes off, especially during economic events.

It's currently on sale on steam: Save 45% on liteCam HD: Capture twitch.tv Live Stream on Steam
