Will there be an option to change back to the original color scheme? The black is nice, but I like the bare bones plain style of the current NinjaTrader better. I have a strong feeling many will also feel this way.
I have a couple questions regarding the Bid/Ask/Last price and volume tick data for NT8.
This is in regards to Ray's remarks starting around 29:00 time stamp.
Will NT8 be able to recall Historic Bid/Ask/Last volume and price updates ,in their original arrival sequence, from either NT's historic data servers or the trader's data provider?
In NT7, I believe DateTime time stamps are generated locally, from the traders computer, at the time data arrives at the traders computer.
Will NT8 still generate time stamps locally?
You also showed on one slide" DateTime.Ticks(10,000 ticks in a millisecond). "
I believe Zenfire sends out time stamps with their data to the micro or nano second. However when I looked into this a year or two ago, they revealed that their timestamps were added from their own servers as the updates were processed. they were not the timestamps from the exchange. If I am wrong about this I apologize.
Even with Millisecond or Microsecond time stamps, Data from the providers can show up a couple tick updates at a time in the proper sequence. If they all get the same time stamp locally(Bid, Ask, and Last Updates), will the correct sequence of updates from the exchange/data provider be preserved for historic data being called to an indicator?
Very nicely done, this is what I was hoping people would do with the dynamic Indicator feature! I don't know if I posted it, but I can now dynamically create an indicator on a specific time series rather than use "OnBarUpdate()" …
The goal would be to have a function, something like:
Indicator I = CreateIndicator(Bars[1],"SMA(21)")
or
Indicator I = CreateIndicator(Bars[1],"SMA","21")
So I would be the SMA of the 2nd bars assigned.
Of course, I would be good to dynamically create BarSets as well....
Hello - With NT 8 - Is it possible to calculate - UpTicks/DownTicks/UpTickVolume/DownTickVolume - for a bar ( any bar type)? this can be done easily in other platforms but couldn't do it in Ninja - without using external frameworks to do this.
You can do this now with a custom coded indicator however, it will only work in real-time. NT8 provides a facility to replay tick data historically so that this custom coded indicator would work as expected.
so, if I want to run MarketAnalyzer/or Chart simultaneously on EUR/USD via MBTrading and EUR/USD via FXCM realtime, I won't be able to do that?
Second question: NT7 gives real-time data to all brokers via sim license for charting only, but once you purchase single broker license for trading you loose all those other "charting only" brokers. So solution is to have primary NT7 with single broker license for trading and second NT7 in virtualbox with sim license for charting/backtesting only via other broker(s).
Some time ago I was told that the reason we have this nonsense is NT7 limitation. Will this limitation be fixed so we can have one feed for trading (sending orders) and other feeds (for charting only) simultaneously?
