Hi, does anyone have experience using Rithmic Rtrader for placing orders? It seems they offer some nice options for manual traders (serverside bracket & OCO orders, static DOM, auto targets, trailing stops, etc.)
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
For order entry do you feel there are advantages in using (Rtrader)+(Ritmic/Zenfire feed) combo, as opposed to Ninjatrader, Sierracharts, Multicharts, etc?
I was originally going to use Sierra as an all in one solution, but now I am considering the combo of Sierra+Rtrader.
The advantage is the server side OCO on RTrader and its a free platform.

Hi Matt,
Hope you are having a nice holiday session. I've been watching some You tube VIds of R Trader. I must say that i am very impressed by some of the tools and charting options offered such as Candle Vol. and Kagi. The fact that Rithmic makes the chrting package would leave me to think that the interplay between the feed and the platform would be seamless.
Is there anything that RTrader lacks in comparison to the more popular charting platforms with usage fees, such as NINJA or Sierra?
Does Rtrader offer volume profile tools?
Thanks!

R Trader Pro offers simple charting that includes many indicators and studies out of the box to get up and running very quickly for analysis. It is very configurable with multiple options for bar types, time frames, session filters, drawing tools and so forth that many traders take advantage of when charting.
R Trader Pro, however, in comparison with other platforms does not include the ability to import 3rd party indicators or custom developed indicators for use on the chart. It also does not include Volume Profile at this point whereas other platforms such as SierraChart do offer these built-in and also allow for custom indicators to be imported and used. There are also further customization options on platforms like SierraChart, such as the ability to configure any time frame interval, like a 7 minute chart, where R Trader Pro is limited to pre-defined options on charting.
If basic charting with simple indicators is all that is needed than R Trader Pro is a great choice. However, if you find yourself tweaking odd time frames, developing custom indicators or purchasing them from 3rd parties, a platform such as SierraChart may provide additional flexibility.

No it does not. But, it does have an order entry attached to the chart where you can place your orders, etc.
Also, it offers a lot of automation in terms of orders, trailing targets, etc.
This should give you a good guide:

I am playing a little bit with R|Trader and can't figure it out how to put Buy/Sell Stop order from it's DOM. Is it even possible? Do you guys have any experience with R|Trader?
Thank you...
as far as I know you need to use the bracket order, from there you can move the stop limit from the dom or cancel it there. I don't know yet how to put stop limit w/o the bracket order.
