Or use New Posts at the top of the home page for that matter.

It won't help the chatbox. But the issue for many of us (me, for example) is not the chatbox (I never use it, never read it), but the list of new posts that is just to the right of the chatbox, which is all I usually use to stay on top of new posts. That's dead too.

maybe fix is a misleading word, should have say, another way to view current threads when chat panel is still not working.

Thanks Bob - Given I always check the new posts with New Posts I tend not to check those in other ways. In fact, right now I don't even have in my mind a picture of how it's supposed to look.

@xplorer, in future you can fix as follows as moderator:

Click "archives" link above Chatbox.

Near top will be some chat from as member with special weird characters showing up (utf-8), which breaks the chat. Select the chat on right, then at bottom click remove chat.

Should be it.

It's not Chrome, I am on FF and I have the same symptoms. @Big Mike, FYI Update: Stuff entered in the chatbox is visible in the chatbox archive but not in the main chatbox

Yes, you can see in the screenshot where MiniP broke it.

Sorry for delay fixing the issue guys. Short version, my pain has returned 100% in the last few weeks and I'm not able to deal with it very well right now. Relying on the mod team for now to fill the gap, thank you to everyone. Will be in Miami in 2 weeks from now for medical follow up, staying six weeks, praying for something new. Will write more in my main thread as this is off topic here.
