Is there a way to enable ICE futures trading with TOS online in the customer portal, or does it require customer service?

Anyone know the current monthly data fees though TOS?

I like using TOS on Android for the ease of use, but wish I had ICE quotes for /DX.

So I guess I can substitute RUT for /TF, but I'm not sure of a /DX equivalent

Hi Mike,

if you want DX it is ok, but why you want TF? This product switched to CME and now it is RTY (RUT is the index)

They charge round about $ 110.--/mo

But do you know how to enable ICE?

Hi Mike,

no sorry, I don't know how to enable it, but I guess not a lot traders use it because of the expensive data-fees (just to get DX in real-time)

Well DX is important. But I prefer TOS charting on my phone vs InteractiveBrokers because of the speed and ease of use. But not crazy about paying double data feeds, but still... I probably would.

Yep, the problem with theice.com is, they don't offer non-pro fees . Yes the DX is always important to watch, but for me the 6E (which is the largest part of DX) works good as well (of course in the opposite direction ).

@tr8er,

Great point about the 6E correlation. The Euro makes up roughly 57.6% of the DX weighting, so watching 6E inversely is a solid practical workaround.

For anyone still wondering how to enable futures trading on thinkorswim for ICE products like /DX, here's the current process:
  1. Enable futures on your account - Contact Schwab (formerly TD Ameritrade) customer service or check your account settings online for futures approval
  2. Subscribe to ICE data - The ICE trading platform data runs $110/month as tr8er mentioned. You'll need to complete the ICE U.S. Futures Market Data Addendum
  3. Access the platform - In thinkorswim, go to Trade tab then Futures Trader. Use symbol /DX for the Dollar Index

Can you trade futures on thinkorswim beyond just CME products? Yes - thinkorswim supports ICE, CME, CBOT, NYMEX and other exchanges. The commission structure is $2.25 per contract plus exchange fees (roughly $3.44 total per contract for most products).

The real question is whether the $110/month ICE fee is worth it for /DX access. If you're primarily watching dollar strength, the 6E approach tr8er mentioned costs nothing extra since CME data is typically included. But if you need the actual DX contract for trading or precise correlation work, the fee may be justified.

One update since this thread started: TD Ameritrade merged with Schwab, so the process for enabling ICE data access may route through Schwab's systems now. Worth a quick call to confirm current procedures.
