No problem, that should not be necessary obviously. Not sure why this was happening to you, but I haven't heard of the issue before so I do hope it is isolated.
Hi Mike
no this is not exactly what I meant, yes I know that I can access my journal by clicking to the journal button on one of my posts, but when I am on the homepage of FIO I have no quick way to access my journal. So I must search for a post of mine …
This change has been made as a result:
Top of each page next to your username, this icon will appear if you have a journal:
On the homepage, this also appears:
I will endeavor to improve this a bit. I want to show recent posts or thanks here, and also find a better icon. But this was a quick-n-dirty hack to get it there.
Then the expanded links feature would ignore the URL entirely. Which is the desired effect, most of the time. But there are a lot of user errors due to not completely understanding how bbcode works.
In these two examples above, the wrapped text is just a link itself -- not a description. What would happen prior to today is that only the text would be displayed. So if it was a YouTube link, a Tweet, a FIO link, then none of our enhanced link features would work.
But after the change today, we are now scanning the text and if it begins with http, then we assume it's a link and will treat it as such -- instead of treating it as text.
A bug fix to report. For a long time (years?) the top-right search box has not always functioned 100% of the time, sometimes you would try to click it and it would never popup.
I hope this is now fixed! But I need you to please test & confirm, and also please report any new issues.
Yep, it's working. Tried it numerous times, and the search window came up every time without any problems.
