I tried most of the trading platforms around, and even with their shitty support (bad manners) and nightmarish UX, Sierra has the best price/features ratio of them all.
Also, their software is optimized to the max, can't beat pure c++.
the only thing that annoys me to hell with this, is that they removed alot of connections and the 1 year discount. They should do a plan similar to motive wave for example. Or increase years+discount for ... traders that last more than 6 months ( which seems to be their client life expectancy now ? )
I don't consider SierraChart expensive, but doing the math, for the years i am a SC user I could have bought NinjaTrader and motive wave OF edition FOR LIFE !
But the bastards know that they are the best, and that denali feed is simply awesome, so they do what they want.
I guess for all their "boomer conspiracy theories", they are the prime example of "In 2021 I will own nothing, and I will be happy"
I've been happy with Tradestation especially since they went through some pricing changes a few years back. Like some here I've got a few custom indicators I'd have to have converted if I changed platforms, but have found no reason to do so.
With a small account, $2k I believe, you get free data, it checks out fine against others data in one my trading groups. The margins are bit higher as well as commissions but if you're a "really" active trader they have another tiered plan based on RT's per month.
So I pay $0 per month, other than maintaining a balance with them, but that's required wherever you trade.
I find logging in and having platform, broker, data, all in one sort of nice.
The Easy Language software for writing/customizing scripts/Indi's is not too difficult. I use it at a basic level but I've manged to get what I needed done.
Having no other experience with other platforms it's hard to say if it would suit the needs of a SC, MC or NT user.
Not a plug and no affiliation with TS, just my experience.
Yeah, Portuguese proof: -> TUGA UNITE! or PORTUGAL CARAL** !!!!!
I don't know any other Portuguese traders also.
Offtopic:
BTW something I have been thinking about it while rereading what I wrote, I think the usage of the word "bastards" in my post, I don't mean for it to be too offensive.
